Description:

The KSUU Production Assistant/intern gains hands-on experience at a radio station and we work with them to tailor their experience to their career goals within the realm of communication and the media. The program options available to our intern include radio production and programming, on-air work, podcasting, event planning, promotions and marketing, graphic and social media design, and sports broadcasting.

Qualifications:

The KSUU Production assistant works with the other KSUU student employees to operate Thunder 91. This includes, but is not limited to, much of the following:

  • Create new radio production.
  • Maintain programming of KSUU-FM Thunder 91.
  • Plan, promote, and carry out live music events Battle of the Bands, Guitars Unplugged, and the Thunderground Throwdown.
  • Assist the students of COMM 1560 and 3503 in their on-air work, production, and other coursework.
  • Lead a group of students in the COMM 3503 class; which group depends on the intern's interests and career goals.
  • Weekly on-air work and/or podcast recording and producing.
  • Graphic design and social media messaging.
  • They must have passed COMM 1560, and have a working knowledge of Adobe Audition, and principles of audio production.
  • Must be a good communicator, team player, and coachable.
